This week’s unit one was quite a challenge to me, first it’s because where I was I had a
challenge of the internet access but since it’s my responsibility as a student to submit all the
required assignments in good time, I had no option but to look for an alternative. This first week
we are introduced to Software Engineering and its origins. At first it was quite a challenge to me
to internalize all at once and because I had to study at a cyber café it was very challenging to use
the limited time to understand everything all at once and in a very short time which is also paid
for.
To counter this and get to understand all that was provided, I consulted the reading
materials provided and I must say it was so helpful and straight forward to understand
everything. The glossary part played a key role in understanding the terms used. These terms
were also very key in understanding and being able to answer the questions provided in the self-
quiz.
Another challenging part of the course was on terms being used, reading the provided materials
wasn’t enough so I had to seek the help of the Internet to help me understand the terms
presented. Although the glossary section of the provided reading material was clear it want
enough for me to understand the terms in a single read. This terms I believe are the core of this
course so I had to make sure I could much knowledge as much as possible and be able to define
them. Selfquiz did me a great justice in that on the first attempt I got 83% which is indicative of
good understanding of the unit.
This week I learnt something very many new words or jargons that are used in a
relationship model in software engineering. The discussion question provided was very helpful
