Solution:
In order to get exact measurement, positive zero error is subtracted from the total
reading.
Corrected diameter = given diameter – positive zero error
Corrected diameter = 0.81cm – 0.02cm
Corrected diameter = 0.79cm

Apply zero correction on a cylinder of diameter 0.65cm measured by a
vernier callipers having positive zero error 0.03cm. Find corrected diameter
