Thrush, or canker sores is an inflammation of the mouth that causes pain. As a result,
someone who has canker sores has no appetite or has difficulty speaking. Canker sores can
heal on their own, but it would be better if treated early.

Apart from using drugs, there are some healthy foods such as vegetables and fruits that can
be used as a canker sore remedy. This is because some of these vegetables and fruits
contain nutrients that can speed up the healing of canker sores.

Vegetable and fruit nutrition as a canker sore remedy

Although until now the exact cause of canker sores is still unclear, experts suspect that a
combination of factors contributes to its appearance. One of the factors that can trigger
canker sores is a lack of intake of vitamin B-12, zinc, folate (folic acid) and iron. Therefore, it
is important to eat foods that are high in these nutrients. Here are some vegetables and
fruits that need to be consumed as a thrush remedy:

1. Spinach vegetables

There are several foods that are known to be high in iron, one of which is green leafy
vegetables such as spinach. This vegetable can provide many health benefits but contains
very few calories. Well, please note that about 3.5 ounces (100 grams) of raw spinach
contains 2.7 milligrams of iron, or 15 percent of the daily requirement. In addition, spinach is
also rich in vitamin C which can significantly increase the absorption of iron in the body.

2. Potatoes and sweet potatoes

Some vegetables contain sufficient amounts and can contribute to meeting the daily needs
of the mineral zinc. For example, a large potato contains 1.08 milligrams, or 9.8 percent DV
for men and 13.5 percent DV for women. Meanwhile, a large sweet potato contains at least
0.576 milligrams, or 5.2 percent of the daily requirement for men and 7.2 percent of the daily
requirement for women.

3. Bananas

Banana is a fruit that is nutritious and contains high vitamin-rich substances when compared
to other fruits. Interestingly, bananas are also a fruit that is rich in vitamin B12 and
fiber. Based on its high nutritional content, bananas are also known to have various health
benefits. Starting from helping in managing blood pressure, reducing stress, eliminating
constipation and ulcer problems, to controlling total body temperature.
