From my point of view during the exercise of building/participating in a project-based activity, it
felt more encouraging to learn about something while seeing/building it. It would be easier to
explain for example wheels, axels and chassis and how they are combined to make a framework of
a vehicle while learners are participating by building it. A project-based activity allows learners to
use sensory language to explore and learn.
This experience creates a sustainable opportunity to explore, investigate and allow learners to be
curious, engage and encourage their creativity.
This technique is beneficial during the activity also after the activity, students learn to manage
obstacles, build on their research skills and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
It helps to boost their self-confidence because it's an open-end project where theirs no right or
wrong answer in the project - it allows children to feel their ideas are valued and they learn to take
pride in their work.
