For this essay, I will be discussing the theoretical concepts involved in analysing the written text
of a play and how various elements such as characters, objects, and events are represented on
stage. The performance orientation of a written dramatic text will also be explored, as well as
how the text is converted into a performance. To illustrate these concepts, I will be using the
play "A Streetcar Named Desire" by Tennessee Williams.
