, ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
To begin with, I would like to thank the Almighty God for his grace and good health granted to
me during the entire research period. Without his mercies this research could not have
materialized.
Secondly, I wish to thank Maseno University stakeholders for giving me an opportunity to study
in this admirable University.
Third, I wish to extent my sincere gratitude to the school of development and strategic studies
(SDSS), for bringing into effect a program that enabled me integrate the theories I learnt in class
setting with practical experience during the industrial attachment.
I will also like to categorically take this opportunity to thank Mr. Olang’ Sana, my project
supervisor for his support, guidance, tireless commitment, and constructive criticism in the entire
period of preparation, research and compiling of the study. His effort and interest in quality
research gave me an impulse to conduct a successful research.
Fifth, I want to appreciate the Centre for Human Rights and Democracy for not only giving me
one of the limited chances to be attached at the organization, but more on the fact that the
Centre’s staff were very generous in sharing their vast knowledge and experience with me,
mentored me and gave me an exposure to real life scenarios of human rights violations, strategies
and mechanisms for redress. Director, Mr. Ken Wafula and Programme officer, Mr. Kipkorir
Ng’etich, I am extremely thankful.
