NSG 6999 Nursing 6999 Week 7 Discussion ALMOST.
Implementation plan PICOT Question Are menopausal women(P) without estrogen replacement (I)more susceptible to UTI(C) menopausal women taking estrogen replacement (O) over a 10-year period (T)? Goals and Objectives The goal and objective are to study menopausal women taking estrogen and does not taking in relation to UTI. Identifying the stakeholders- The stake holders are the patients who volunteer for the study. I will be looking to enroll 100 menopausal patients that are on estrogen therapy and 100 who are not measured over the next 5 years for UTI. The setting will be in the primary care practice setting and a questionnaire will be given to monitor incidence of UTI in each group. Identifying potential barriers: There are many potential barriers to studying a disease like UTI. For example, A NHSN Monthly Reporting Plan for the LTCF (CDC 57.141) must be completed for each calendar month in which a facility plans to enter data into the NHSN. A user will not be able to save entered event data in the NHSN application without a corresponding monthly reporting plan. Many menopausal women with UTI may be willing or able to document this problem. Facilities are encouraged to perform UTI surveillance and reporting for at least 6 consecutive months to provide meaningful measures for analysis, but there is not a minimum reporting requirement. Compliance among the study population may also be a potential barrier to this study.
