Southwest engineering services project provide various insights into leadership of
organizations. The goal of the project was to develop new software. The project under the
leadership of Ron was supposed to be a success for the company. Donna was also another
important player in the fulfilment of the project. Her contribution to the project had immense
impact on the project. This project provides varied discussion on leadership and its influence
in organizations. Ron summons 12 team members for a meeting on the first of the projects
inception. In light of this project it is essential for one to define leadership as well as specific
aspects it relates to.
In defining leadership one can state that a leader needs to be able to influence individuals’
efforts towards attaining company goals. Every organization on the globe strives to provide
services and goods effectively (Arena & Uhl-Bien, 2016). Therefore management of
activities within various sectors needs to be effective. In respect to this the effectiveness of
leaders’ plays a role in attaining company goals. In the case of Ron conducting a project for
Southwest engineering services, there is need to consider various aspects to the effectiveness
of leaders. An effective leader need to be able to self asses their strength and weaknesses.
Effective leaders need to have sharp perception. This aspect is essential in ensuring honest
communication with teams and their peers. Effective leaders have adequate knowledge about
the organization and are responsive to group needs (Cenkci & Özçelik, 2015).

Ron while introducing the team of members for the project states that they were all selected
by their boss based on specific aspects. The effectiveness of leaders depends on their power
to manage group efforts as well as companies assets. Therefore there is a need to the
