During warmer:
Students might not be familiar with one or more of the animals. This can be
solved by explaining more about the context of the animal (e.g. Gazelles live in
Africa and run very fast)
During pre-teaching vocabulary
Examine is sounds different than written, as the last e is not pronounced. This
can be solved by paying extra attention to pronunciation of this word, and
drilling it several times.
During listening exercise
Pay extra attention to the word “Deer”: It is written differently, and mean
something different than “Dear” but is pronounced the same. Also, “Deer” is an
uncountable noun.
Students may not be familiar with the expression “Running on all fours”. During
last question round, at the question “Does anybody know what this means?”
and explain if necessary
There are more words that might be difficult for the students than just the ones
that were pre taught (e.g. “autistic”) Ask students if anyone them have spotted
any words they were unfamiliar with, and ask class if anyone does know the
meaning of this word. Explain if necessary.
General problems
Should a part of the lesson take longer/shorter than planned: Adjust the last
activity according to this: Instead of the debates lasting 2 minutes, change this
to 3 or 1.5 minutes.
