Preadmission - The process of gathering important information prior to a patient's arrival at the hospital. Patient Workqueue - List of patient encounters that require follow up. RTE - Real Time Eligibility Patient Class - Describes the type of encounter the patient will have; i.e., inpt or outpt. Occurrence Code (Claim Info) - Onset and when Admission event - Indicates that the patient is in the hospital and is in a specific room and bed. Transfer event - Indicates that an admitted patient has moved from one bed to a different bed. Patient Update event - Indicates a change in time- and date-sensitive information (other than room and bed) for the patient. Discharge event - Indicates that the patient's stay has ended. HOV event - Indicates that a patient has arrived for a hospital outpatient visit. Hyperspace Activity Toolbar - Provides buttons to accomplish tasks related to the current activity. 2.29-30 F5 - Allows you to see the values available for entry in a field with a selection list. Tab - Allows you to move from field to field on a form in Hyperspace. Employer Field: Other - Enter Other in the Employer Field to enter a comment field when the patient's employer is not built in Hyperspace. 2.19 Guarantor - The person that will be sent a bill for any balance not covered by insurance. 2.19 HAR - Hospital Account Record. Determines which of the patient's coverages will be sent to claims, and which of the patient's guarantors will be sent a bill. Preauthorization - Approval for specific services or procedures. 4.4 Today's Patients Report - Patients that are expected up to two weeks past or future. 5.4 FO - Filing Order 6.10 Terminate Coverage - Coverage was once valid for a patient but is no longer effective. Ch 7 Guarantor Account - Deactivate - Guarantor was once valid for a patient but is no longer valid. Ch 7 Guarantor Account - Remove - Wrong guarantor account was mistakenly added to a patient. Ch 8 Reservation Workflow - A way to create a pending admission and reserve a bed for a direct admit patient. Useful when a bed planner receives a phone call or a faxed reservation form for a patient who needs to be admitted immediately. Ch 9 Pre-Admission, Pending - Data is being entered days in advance for an admission, but that not all of the data has been collected. 9.14 Bed Planning Unit View - Overview of all beds in the hospital, sorted into columns by unit, and provides information on current and expected occupancy. Patient Type field - Flags something special about the patient, i.e. they are a hospital employee or celebrity.
