Case Introduction
As presented in the case our company is moving into a new territory where we're not only
developing the software but also managing the software rollout. A software rollout process is a
serious issue and needs to be dealt with accordingly. Several companies have suffered from
mistakes made in the software rollout process which lead to the loss of millions of dollars
(Fruhlinger et al., 2020).
To avoid or minimize these problems implementing a robust project management approach is the
ideal solution. Projects are constrained by time and cost and need to meet the user's expectancies.
Meeting all the criteria and completing a successful project requires a rigorous process that is in
line with the principles and strategies of project management.
Additionally, having a department to oversee the whole operation would be central to the success
of these projects. Applying project management tools and methods will help provide focus and
clear objectives to the project team, save time and money, improve communication, and improve
customer satisfaction.
Provide focus and Clear objectives
Software rollout is a complicated process and if not properly done leads to waste. The team that
manages the software rollout needs to have a clear understanding of the objectives and how these
objectives are going to be achieved. A plan that details the objectives and methodology to be
used should be prepared (Aston, 2022). The project management department will be critical to
overseeing this operation and the use of project management tools is a necessity.
