Executive summary
The viral video streaming website TikTok is operated via the Chinese firm ByteDance. In
2020, the Indian government banned 59 Chinese software programs, including the well-known
short-video network TikTok. TikTok was among hundreds of Chinese apps that India blocked in
June which many believed was a result of border disputes with Chinese governments. TikTok is
also under governmental examination in some nations for problems involving data privacy and
broadcasting 'immoral' material. Pakistan partially prohibited the site for inappropriate content in
October 2021. Following the above and many other allegations, the Tiktok ban in India case
study is an illustration of managing across International Borders since it impacts cultural, and
ethical trade operations and sales across the globe as discussed in this paper.
