Reflexive stage - ANS-0-2 month; reflective and vegetative sounds; no control over
sound production

Control Phonation - ANS-1-4 months. Raspberries, trills and clicks. Production of
consonant and vowel-like sounds (cooing and gooing)

Expansion stage - ANS-3-8 months. Yells, squells, raspberries. Marginal babbling,
short strings of adult -like consonants and vowels.

Basic canonical syllables - ANS-5-10 months. Use true consonant and vowel sounds
(C-V) combinations - Babbling. Reduplicated/ non-variegated babbling ,
non-reduplicated/variegated babbling

Reduplicated Babbling - ANS-Non-variegated babbling sequence is reduplicated
da-da-da.

Non-reduplicated Babbling - ANS-Variegated babbling sequence producing true vowel
and consonants in various combinations. da-ba, da ma gi bo.

Advanced Forms - ANS-Produces jargon but doesn't yet produce true words. Vowel and
consonant long strings. More complex syllable form v-c.
