Aristotle Born 15 years after Socrates died He was a metic (from Macedonia) Studied at Plato’s school, sent there by his parents Aristotle was a great, bright student of Plato’s Decided to go home after studying As adult, personal tutor of Alexander (later becomes Alexander the Great) Alexander the Great (conqueror of Greece, didn’t set well with people of Athens) Went back to Athens afterwards People of Athens put him on trial/charged for treason, but he’s not a citizen and he’s not Socrates Aristotle left and never went back He owed Athens nothing, as a metic, he didn’t feel same sense of responsibility as Socrates
