Definitions:
Pathophysiology – This is the study of the disordered
physiological process that cause, result from, or are
otherwise associated with a disease or injury.
Clinical manifestation – This is the physical result of
some type of illness or infection.
Medical management – This is the collaborative
process that facilitates recommended treatment plans
to assure the appropriate medical care is provided to
disabled, ill or injured individuals.
Nursing management – It consists of the
performance of leadership functions of governance
and decision-making within organizations employing
nurses and includes common management processes
like planning, organizing, staffing and directing.
, AORTIC STENOSIS (AS)
Aortic stenosis is the narrowing of the exit of the left
ventricle of the heart where the aorta begins. It may
occur at the aortic valve as well as below and above
this level.
PATHOPHYSIOLOGY
The increased pressure load imposed by aortic stenosis
results in compensatory hypertrophy of the left
ventricle without cavity enlargement. With time the
ventricle can no longer compensate causing secondary
left ventricle cavity enlargement, reduced ejection
fraction, decreased cardiac output and a misleading
