By: Mr. Muchiri
,Introduction
• Physiology is the study of functions of various systems and differen
organs of the body
• The basic physiological functions include,
provision of oxygen and nutrients,
removal of metabolites and other waste products,
maintenance of blood pressure and body temperature,
hunger and thirst, locomotor functions, special sensory functions,
reproduction and
the higher intellectual functions like learning and memory.
,Introduction
• The human body is a multicellular system
• It arises from fusion of male and female gamete in the female
reproductive organs
• This process is called fertilization and releases zygote which is
implanted in the uterus
• The zygote develops embryologically through cell division and
differentiation to form a fully developed body
• The body is organized at various level
, • Organization of the human body
Organ
cell Tissue Organ
system
• Cell is the basic structural and functional unit of the body
