This essay critically analyses the statement the concept that the “significance of scale lies in the processes that continually reconstitute it as theoretically, materially, and politically important” (Sayre and Di Vittorio, 2009). It argues that by choosing the scale at which political discussions take place, public understanding and reactions to the issue can be manipulated.

This essay focuses upon the research of A.Mountz and N.Hiemstra (2014), N.De Genova (2013) and M.Coleman (2007), in assessing the scope and quality of their findings, in revealing contemporary issues and patterns of undocumented migration in its new geographical expressions.

This was a successful additional personal statement to apply for Liberal Arts at Durham. I received an offer in 2022. Techniques could be used for any Liberal Arts course or humanities application.
