The contrast media is introduced through a catheter or bronchoscope.
The bronchography examination may be performed to diagnose the structure and function
abnormalities of the larynx trachea and bronchi.
Now a day’s bronchography has been obsolete. It is replace by CT scan (HRCT) and a flexible
Bronchoscopy procedure.

• Bronchiectasis (permanent dilation of bronchi and bronchioles)
• Bronchitis (thickened wall of bronchi and bronchioles)
• Hemoptysis (blood in coughing)
• Tracheoesophageal fistula (tract between trachea and esophagus)
• Pulmonary lesion and mass.
• Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Contra indication
• Hypersensitivity to iodine
• Suspected pregnancy
• Diabetic
• Severe hypertension
• Cardiopulmonary disease
• Asthma
