- Without a question, research lacks direction.


ESSENTIAL RESEARCH TERMS


Research Paper
- Academic writing that presents analysis, interpretation, and arguments.
- Based on independent research -> backed by evidence.


Abstract
- Concise summary of a research paper.
- Helps readers decide if the full paper is worth reading.
- Includes: problem, methodology, results, & conclusion.


Literature Review
- Analyzes previous studies to provide context.
- Identifies research gaps & connects your study to existing knowledge.
- Not just a summary -> it's a critical evaluation.


Hypothesis
- Educated guess that can be tested.
- Guides research methodology & data collection.
- Example: "Increased screen time leads to lower grades."


Methodology
- Describes how research is conducted.
