Warmer
Welcome back everyone! Please have a seat. I will be giving you the text we
listened to earlier today.

Now before we start reading: Can anyone give me an example of a passive
phrase?
Listen to answers, correct if wrong, board phrase if right
And what makes this phrase passive?
Correct! The object is the beginning of the phrase, and the verb is in past
participle form!
Well done! Now can anyone here also make this sentence to be in the past
simple form? Keep in mind, it still has to be passive!
Very good! How about present perfect?
(pay extra attention to has/had, and ask students for the difference between
this two: “Chris had been singing, Is Chris still singing?”)
Nice job! Now what we’re going to do next:
(See lesson plan from “Explain students warmer game…”)
2nd stage (Present)
Board phrase: “A boy was seen”
Okay! So we know this phrase is passive. But is this in past simple or present
perfect form?
As per usual, listen and correct.
Now can you tell me something about the structure of this phrase? Do you
recognize any verbs, objects, subjects? And in what order are they? (If students
struggle with this open question, point out the words individually and ask them
what they are.)
