De volgende termen uitleggen: macula, fovea, foveola, veneuze puls, c/d ratio, neuro retinale rand,
a/v ratio,

Veneuze puls: de hartslag die je bij sommige mensen terug ziet in het netvlies
CD-ratio: cup-disk ratio (als de cup 1/10 deel vult is de CD-ratio 0,1 en bij 7/10 is de CD-ratio 0,7)
Neuroretinale rand: het deel van de disk dat geen cup is
AV-ratio: verhouding arteriën en venen (A/V ¾ is normaal)
De techniek van direct oogspiegelen uitleggen en uitvoeren
- dim room illumination
- patient sits at similar or lower level than examiner; remove spectacle Rx.
- examiner preferably remains standing on the same side of the eye examined
- instruct patient to fixate straight ahead or slightly above horizontal
- always start with OD; avoids forgetting which eye you just did!
- the right hand & right eye are used to examine the patient’s right eye & vice versa
- turn on DO, adjust intensity medium to high
- place the free hand on headrest behind patient, on shoulder or preferably on patient’s
forehead
