- Pablo Picasso is one of the most famous artists in the art world. He, unlike many of

- Food For Thought: Lady Liberty is one of my favorite subjects. She is known as
Marianne in the French culture. This painting falls under Romanticism since there are
no hard lines and instead focused more on colors and forms. It is believed the Statue
of Liberty was modeled after Marianne. Sometimes students will ask me why
Marianne is showing her breasts. Her free breasts depict freedom. That notion that

the arts. When we think about the early Renaissance period, we think about the early
years of the 15th century in Florence, Italy. What is more noticeable about this time
and place is the growth of wealth and the number of wealthier families tied to the
government (“Florence in the Early Renaissance,” n.d.). Because of this, di
